Description of lectures in this course:
“Yoga in Ayurveda, Ayurveda in Yoga”
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences, one of their common goal is to improve the quality of life for every single human being by keeping them healthy. Health in these sister sciences is not merely absence of disease but in addition to absence of disease the happiness and the contentment factor are important ingredients of health. Recently published Charak Sutrani and Ayurvedic Sutra book, by Swamiji Digambarji, clearly shows the uses of yogic principles and practice to end the physical and mental suffering at the same time looking at yogic texts like Hathapradipika and Gheranda Samhita, it can be clearly seen the use of Ayurvedic principles in describing the health benefits of yogic practices. Yogis and Ayurvedic practitioners in ancient India and now are known to have used ayurvedic herbs/concoctions as well as yogic practices to keep healthy.
In addition to covering the above topic, we woul like to clear a misconception, it is a common belief that the Ayurvedic diet mainly consists of Indian foods and spices, which is not true, foods around the world can be cooked and administered according to Ayurvedic principles.
